Did you know?

Scallops are packed with protein and vitamin B12, making them a great companion to just about any vegetable. B12 is necessary in the production of healthier blood cells, and a deficiency can cause anemia, resulting in a loss of energy and feelings of sluggishness. It’s important to keep B12 levels up to help you stay energized, and this vitamin is most commonly found in fish. No animal, fungus, or plant on earth can produce it naturally, though! Only bacteria and archaea have the enzymes necessary to synthesize B12. So next time you enjoy a scallop, give thanks to those little guys!
