INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 Lb Mussels
1/2 Lb Shrimp, with skin
2 Garlic clove, chopped
2 Cup Mushrooms
1 Bunch Thyme

DIRECTIONS

step #1

Take a medium-sized pot, and add your mussels and chopped garlic - you'll want to leave some room for other ingredients, so make sure you've got a large enough pot.

step #2

Take your mushrooms and slice them into large pieces. This'll allow them to cook easily with the rest of the ingredients in your pot, so add them in as well. Cover the pot and turn your stove up to high heat, allowing it to steam for approximately three minutes.

step #3

Before you add your shrimp, be sure to leave the skins on. This will help control the speed at which the shrimp cook in your pot, and will prevent them from becoming chewy and overcooked.

step #4

Add your shrimp to the top of the pot, alongside one small bunch of thyme. Cover the pot, and continue to steam for approximately four to five minutes. When your shrimp have gone red, take it off the heat and prepare to plate!

step #5

Ready to serve!

Mussels are rich in vitamin B12, which the body uses to help regulate your nervous system. Some of the happy benefits of this include a reduction in stress and the likelihood of depression, making it an ideal food for when you’re feeling down. That’s not all though – B12 is required to convert carbs into glucose, a necessity for keeping your energy levels up. Mushrooms, meanwhile, contain just as many antioxidants as carrots. which help reduce free radicals in your body. They also provide a healthy dose of selenium, which helps detoxify certain compounds that wind up in our bodies.
