If you’re looking for a delicious low-fat flank steak for dinner tonight, nothing beats this quick and easy recipe. You can cook the steak in next to no time, and pairing it with juicy tomatoes topped with garlic makes this flank steak recipe a surefire hit.

7 Oz Beef flank steak, with chives, sea salt & pepper
2 Cup Tomato, broiled
1/4 Tsp Grape seed oil
2 Tsp Chives
1 Tsp Garlic powder

step #1

Heat up a non-stick pan with grape seed oil. The trick to a perfect sear every time is a hot pan, and using grape seed oil means you can maintain a high temperature without worrying about burning.

step #2

Gently slice across the top of your flank steak to help the seasoning work into the meat, and season with chopped chives, sea salt, and pepper.

step #3

Sear the steak in the hot pan, flipping halfway through to cook both sides. Flank steak doesn't take much more than 7 minutes to cook, so be sure to keep an eye on it. Don't overcook, as it will become tough and chewy.

step #4

Plate the steak with sliced fresh tomatoes, or, alternatively, cool roasted tomatoes - top your tomatoes with garlic powder, and finish the plate with fresh chopped chives.

step #5

Ready to serve!

Did you know?

Lean beef is a great way to get your required iron intake. Your red blood cells require hemoglobin (a protein that contains iron) to effectively carry oxygen, and a deficiency in iron can prevent this, leading to anemia. Flank steak recipes use a particularly lean cut of beef, as it’s a part of the animal that gets regular exercise and is naturally low-fat.
