Reap the many benefits of a paleo diet!
The paleo diet, which has gained popularity in recent years, is based on the notion that we should eat real, unprocessed foods, and avoid foods that are harmful to our health. The term “paleo” is short for Paleolithic, and this way of eating is meant to mimic the way in which our ancestors, who didn’t suffer from the same chronic diseases and health issues that our population does today, consumed their food.
So, what exactly does the paleo diet entail? Those who have adopted a paleo lifestyle eat lean proteins, fruits and vegetables, and healthy fats from sources such as nuts, seeds, avocado, olive oil, and grass-fed meat. They avoid grains, legumes, dairy, and refined foods.
For some, this may seem daunting and difficult, and perhaps even limiting, but it doesn’t have to be. If you’ve chosen to eliminate foods that you believe do not support your overall health and wellness, we can help! All of the recipes developed and posted on LowFatLowCarb.com are compliant with the paleo diet, and are sure to support the overall goals of all those committed to this way of eating.
If you’ve spent any amount of time perusing the recipes found on our website, you’ll know that we take pride in using fresh, high-quality ingredients. We too believe in the health benefits of lean proteins, fruits and vegetables, and healthy fats, and incorporate these very elements in many of our recipes!
