I often ask my clients why they have come to see me? What is the main impetus that has pushed them into making a decision to change their life? Most of the time the answer is because they have had it. Had it with being overweight. Had it with not having enough energy. Had it with not fitting into the clothes in their closet. Had it with being sick and tired all the time. Had it with not being able to walk and have fun with others. The list goes on and on.
However, until you get to this point where you feel like your back is up against the wall, not much will change. You will continue to make excuses. You will say, “I will start over Monday”. Your “will power” won’t be very strong.
What does it take to get to this point? That is different for each of us. We all have our own past and our own journey into the future. What do you want for your future? Can you push through your frustration? Believe me, I know what the struggle to lose weight is like. I can’t tell you how many times I gained and lost weight, over and over again.
I got so fed up trying everything I knew to lose it and keep it off. You have every right to be fed up with being overweight. But, instead of being angry, you need to get to the bottom of your issues. Maybe your hormones are out of whack? Maybe you are not eating right for your metabolism? Maybe you need to learn more about how the body works to get over the hump. That is what finally helped me. I didn’t want to be fat anymore. I finally HAD enough.
Do you want to be fat? I doubt it very much. I was scared to stay the weight I was due to my family history of Diabetes and heart disease. I had to find a way. That is what led me to a low fat, low carb, adequate protein eating plan. The LowFatLowCarb website helps support that effort.
So what are you going to do? Your life is in your hands. You get to choose your future. You have to create a lifestyle you can live by. A diet has a beginning and an end. It should not last forever. But, eating is a necessary element. You have to eat to live; however, you shouldn’t live to eat.
