It is really easy to get sidetracked by ‘stuff’ and life, but if we can just remember to do our weekly prep and take food with us for the day, our bodies feel better, we get the benefits of all those nutrients, we stay on track and we optimize our ability to burn fat. Skipping meals only stresses out the body and triggers it to hold onto fat stores. This is one of the main points I teach every week. It is important to understand our bodies and what makes us work at optimum. 
When hunger hits, having a fridge and pantry stocked with foods that are ready to eat, or cook, can mean the difference between noshing on something nutritious and hitting up the drive thru for a fast food fix. In addition to helping you eat better, food prep can save time, money, and help keep things easy in the kitchen. Also, never leaving the house without taking something to eat with you! Isn’t that why we women carry such large purses??!!
Along with a little meal planning, spending as little as one hour in the kitchen each week can help set you and your family up for a week’s worth of healthy eating. This is what I do every Sunday. I go to church, then to the store and produce stand; upon arriving home I get in the kitchen, roll up my sleeves and start my prep. This hour or two helps to eliminate weekly stress. 
Everyone knows how stressful it is to make last minute decisions about “what’s for dinner?” You race home from work frantic and hungry, knowing you have just a short time to choose a dinner and get it cooked and on the table. If you have a meal plan, you can take care of things in advance and all that is left at the end of a long day are those last few things to cook. Meal planning eliminates the need to rely on unhealthy last minute options.  This is where most clients fail. As Benjamin Franklin said, “fail to plan, plan to fail”. 
Finally, meal planning helps you stay organized when it comes to shopping for groceries. Plan ahead and pick up all the ingredients you need for the week or month during a single trip to the supermarket. There are many guidelines available for planning, including the www.lowfatlowcarb.com site! 

One more thing, remember clean eating doesn`t have to be bland and boring! Incorporate different spices and find out what you like! It will make it all more enjoyable. I LOVE what I eat; otherwise I wouldn`t be able to stay on track.  I love food and if I don`t enjoy eating what`s on my plate, there`s no way I’ll eat it again let alone every single day. Find out what works for you and stick with it! Remember, proper eating is key to living a healthy and fit lifestyle.  Now, get in the kitchen and hard boil some eggs!
