Regardless of what your daily diet may be, springtime is a great time to reboot your system for a fresh start just in time for the summer season. A dysfunctional pancreas is like an overheated engine: if you give it a break, it will work more efficiently! There are lots of ways that you can cleanse or detox your body however, this can be as simple as changing your grocery list. There is no need for fasting and weird detox diets. Try eating more of these foods instead:

Kale

The queen of greens! Kale is one of the most popular superfoods these days. This green is packed with so much nutrition that there is no wonder why people are going crazy over the stuff! Kale can be added to almost any dish too. Try it in salads, juices, smoothies, and main course meals or even as a snack (kale chips).

Turmeric

This spice has numerous healing properties! Among others, turmeric has anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer and immune boosting characteristics. As an added bonus, it taste great and adds a hint of color too!

Tofu

Tofu is a great source of protein and iron. It’s the perfect alternative to animal protein. Whatever the dish may be, try replacing the “meat” ingredient with a tofu option. You may be surprised as to how much you like it! 

Artichokes

This veggie can help with your fat digesting enzymes and can even tame your sugar cravings! How great is that!!! Add some to your salads for something different!

Garlic

I don’t like garlic… Said nobody ever! Although, your breath may not be in agreement with this, garlic is awesome!!! It can transform any dish into something super tasty! And, you can feel good about yourself since you are flushing your toxins at the same time! 

Salmon

Oh salmon! This fish is so great for your skin! Did you know that salmon is rich in fatty acids and omega-3s? This can help regulate the oil production of your skin and boost hydration!

Cabbage

Cabbage has the ability to flush carcinogens and boost liver enzymes! Such a versatile veggie and adds a ton of color to your meals! So much fun!

Asparagus

Asparagus is low in fat and high in fiber! These gems are also a good source of iron, vitamin C and vitamin B. Have em’ roasted, grilled or sautéed and add them to any recipe! 

Cucumbers

Mmm! The perfect snack for on the go! Did you know that cucumbers could reduce water retention and bloating?  

Lemons

Lemons are natural detoxifiers. Maintain a daily dose to keep things feeling fresh! You can either drizzle it on your fish or salads or simply drink it with some water. I love waking up to a warm cup of lemon water. It makes me feel energized and gives my body a boost!
